５月某日、川床の一番高いところから美しい【 waterfall 】が現れた・・・

染色家である玉井佐知さんと私の出会いは互いの子が通う保育施設でのこと。
その時は、まさか数年後にこのような日を迎えるとは思っていませんでした。
私はすぐに、彼女とその作品のファンなり、奥貴船というこの場所で作品を展示してみたいと思うようになりました。染色の技術に水が欠かせないものであることを知り、水の湧き出る地である貴船という場所で作品を展示してみたいという想いがさらに強くなりました。数多くの作品の中で 【waterfall of emotions】 にたどり着くのは自然な流れでした。このダイナミックな作品を水のしぶきを感じられる一番高いところから、人の気配を感じられる空間である川床に展示をすることに決めました。

あの存在感と感動の景色は忘れられません。

人と人の活気が交差する川床という場所、時間と共に表情が変わる自然の中で一日展示をすることができました。このような機会をいただきました染色作家 玉井佐知さんに、またご覧いただきました全ての方々に心より御礼申し上げます。

この作品はこれで終わりではありません。
この先も染色と水の関係がそうであるように、私たちの活動は啓蒙と共に続いていきます。

貴船に初めて足を踏み入れたのは染色を始めた１９の頃でした。
水が沸く貴船の地ー、神聖な気を感じ根源的なエネルギーが満ちた場所だと強く思い、感
動したのを覚えています。【waterfall of emotions】は、この地からインスピレーションを
受け生まれた作品です。
「水」からの発想そして創造は、染色作品だからこそ成し得る表現かもしれません。
なぜなら染色は、ほぼ全ての工程で水を使うからです。染料を溶くとき、染めるとき、定
着後の水元…、水の存在は必要不可欠と言えます。
そして鮮やかな発色、高い透明感は、染料だからこその魅力です。
普段は人間をテーマに制作している私ですが、この作品で得た自然からの導きは大きく、
考え方の幅が広がり新たな視点を得る事ができました。人間の中にも、川の流れや渦を巻
く情景があっていいと感じたのです。かつて「宇宙の摂理と人体は重なっている」と残し
たレオナルド・ダヴィンチのこの言葉が自身の制作と繋がり、より自由な染色表現を試み
るきっかけになりました。
私自身20年以上、京都洛北に身を置き染色を学び、この地域を大切に考え、制作・発表を
続けてまいりました。この度、貴船兵衛様での作品展示が叶い、また団扇という形で貴船
の地に関われますことを大変嬉しく思っております。

It was as a student of nineteen years old, just beginning dyeing when I first visited Kifune.
I remember being impressed by Kifune the spiritual place full of beautiful water and ancient
power. My work 《Waterfall of Emotions 》was born inspired by this place
The idea and creation based on Water is possibly the expression able to be performed by
dyeing. It is because dyeing uses water in almost all processes of production: processes of
dissolving dye, of dyeing, of watering after fixing dye, etc.: Water is essential to dyeing.
And the brilliance of color development and transparent feeling of dyeing may be attractive
features produced only by the use of water at the various stages of dyeing.
I used to produce works of the theme of Human, but I got a new viewpoint by finding the
broad field of idea through the power of nature in Kifune. I could feel a scene with a stream
or a whirlpool of a river in the human world. Leonard da Vince once said that the
providence of the universe and human body correspond to each other. This golden saying
acted as a very stimulating suggestion for me and gave me a very good motivation for the
production of far more free expression of dyeing.
I have continued to produce works of dye, living in the north Kyoto and having a respect for
the place for more than twenty years. Now I am very happy that my work has been put on
display here in the Hyoe gallery. And I greatly appreciate the distribution of an Uchiwa
based on my work in Kifune.
